| Keyboard Wizard |
Keyboard Wizard is a keyboard management utility for Windows® applications on Windows® 2K/XP systems. It allows you to enter text in any language supported by UNICODE. You do not need to change Windows® systems keyboards. Simply, load a keyboard into Keyboard Wizard and start typing in the language of your choice. You can download or purchase a number of keyboards from this site, or better yet, you can create your own using Keyboard Wizard Developer. It is extremely suitable for languages that are written in scripts such as Indic (Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati etc). It is also good for one-to-one key mapped languages and character sets. As we like to say Keyboard Wizard "puts the worlds languages at your fingertips". |
 |
|
How it works
When you enable Keyboard Wizard and load a keyboard template, Keyboard Wizard will map the appropriate key to one specified by the loaded keyboard template. For example, if you were to load a Bengali language keyboard template, and the template specifies the key 'K' on the keyboard to be mapped to the UNICODE Bengali character 'Ka', then Keyboard Wizard will intercept the 'K' key press and send the UNICODE Bengali character 'Ka' to the active application. Also, for scripting languages, Keyboard Wizard is able to monitor previous key presses and take appropriate actions, like change the previous keys in the current keystroke.
PRICING Keyboard Wizard is free for personal use. For all other use it costs £19.95 (UK Sterling)

| Keyboard Wizard Developer |
When you need to type in a Language that is not supported by Windows® or you do not like the keyboard layout you currently use, create your own keyboard for use with Keyboard Wizard using Keyboard Wizard Developer. It is extremely powerful and allows you to create keyboards based on any language or code pages supported by UNICODE. You do not need any programming skills. Everything is done visually using click and select with the mouse. How it works
Using Keyboard Wizard Developer you assign a character or set of characters to a particular key or key combination on the keyboard. For example, for the Devanagari characters you may choose to assign the character Ka (U+0915) to key K on the keyboard, and likewise assign character Kha (U+0916) to SHIFT+K key combination on the keyboard. Furthermore, for a complex scripting languages such as Devanagari, using contextual keys you can analyse the users previous key presses and take appropriate actions in the current keystroke. For example, you can set a contextual key so that when the user presses the Halant sign (U+094D) followed by AA sign (U+093E), you can send Backspace (U+08) followed by letter AA (U+0906) to the application.
Once you have assigned all the characters you need, you can then publish that keyboard template for use with Keyboard Wizard. With Keyboard Wizard, when this keyboard template is enabled this is what will happen. When the user presses 'K' on the keyboard, instead of sending the English letter 'K' to the application it will send the Devanagari character Ka (U+0915) to the active application. Likewise, if the user presses Halant followed by AA sign, then Keyboard Wizard will delete the previous key by sending Backspace, and then send the AA letter to the active application.
